Obituary

Percy Lynwood James, Jr, 68 of Easton died February 11, 2020 at USMC @ Easton. He was born on May 5, 1951 in Painter, Virginia to the late Percy L James, Sr and Olivia T Baines.

Percy received his early education in Virginia but graduated from Queen Anne County High School in Centreville. After graduating high school, Percy enlisted and served in the United States Army. He also worked in the healthcare field and other capacities. Percy enjoyed cooking, fishing, playing his guitar, and storytelling. Spending time with his family brought him so much joy.

He was a member of Whole Counsel Apostolic Church of God in Greensboro under the leadership of Bishop Marvin L Jenkins. Percy served as a Sunday School teacher and a Deacon.  I

In addition to his parents, Percy is preceded in death by 2 brothers: Earl Oliver James and Phillip Tyrone James; 2 sisters: Shirley Mae James and Brenda Leoma James.

Deacon James leaves to cherish fond memories with his loving wife, Thelma L James of Easton; one daughter, Shenitta D Collins of Centreville; a son, Dontae White (Denisha) of Chestertown; 6 grandchildren: Diondre Collins Jr, Shakai Collins both of Chestertown, Desmond White, Donovan White, Brielle Smallwood, and Elijah White; 3 brothers: Hilton James of Ridgley, Maurice James of Salisbury, and Emmanuel (Marina) of Centreville; 2 sisters: Barbara (John) Smallwood of Henderson, MD, Jelene Johnson of Federalsburg; 7 sisters-in-law: Carmen of Sandtown, DE, Maschell Hines (Rev Dartanyon) of Trappe, Andrea (Phillip) Moaney, Carlene Taylor, Karen Taylor, Gloria Taylor, and Eileen Taylor; 2 brothers-in-law: Charles Taylor and Samuel Taylor, Jr; 3 aunts: Emma (William) Chandler, Teressa Baines of Belle Haven, Virginia, and Mary Christian of Hampton, VA; one uncle, Ernest (Jacqueline) James of Painter, VA; 9 children who he thought of as his own, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

We thank God for the time Allowed to share precious memories with our beloved Percy!!!
