Martha Margaret (Jones) Lawson, 66, daughter of the late Ethel Wongus Jones and the late Milton Jones, Sr. was born on October 14, 1953 in Linkwood, Maryland. She departed this life on March 15, 2020 at Shore Medical Center at Dorchester.
“Margaret” as she was known by family and friends, graduated from Cambridge Senior High School in 1971. She held various cleaning jobs around Dorchester County until her health failed.
She loved to sing and dance to whatever song was being played; she also loved being around her family. After meeting Dennis Matthews, she began to attend church regularly. Margaret, being a people person, loved to be around others and travel with the Touch of Class Club.Margaret loved her children, Delilah and Hilton, Jr. She also held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil with her love.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory a daughter; Delilah Wright (Stanley); one son; Hilton Banks, Jr.; seven grandchildren; Edward Jones, Jr., Janaya Smith, Briel Banks, jazmine Banks, Kristein Banks, Simone Banks and Madison Banks; three great-grandchildren; Eamere Jones, E’Mauri Jones and Camden Beasley. Four sisters; Mary Pinkett, Louise Jones, Decota Jones, Marion Saunders; two brothers, Milton Jones( Gloria) and Brandon Jones. A special friend, Dennis Matthews and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sister, Estella Manokey, two brothers, Percy (Jake) Lake and Walter Jones; two sisters-in-law, Mable Lake and Sally Beasley and one brother in-law, James Manokey, Sr.
