On Monday, October 5, 2020, Louise Pinder Brummell, 84, transitioned peacefully at home in St. Louis with her family by her side.

Born Louise Flossie Mary Pinder on April 10, 1936, in Bucktown, Maryland, to the late Louise Thompson Pinder and Monroe William Pinder, she was the fourth of twelve children.

Louise graduated from Maces Lane High school in 1955. She studied general classes and participated in the Glee Club, Science Club, and Dramatic Club. Louise most enjoyed her Business classes, in which she excelled and typed 100 words per minute. Louise retired from Airpax Electronics, Cambridge MD, after working for more than twenty-five years.

Louise accepted Christ at an early age and later became a faithful member of Scotts United Methodist Church. She worked tirelessly and unselfishly over many years at Scotts, serving on the Hospitality, Flower, and United Methodist Women committees. She served as president of the Usher’s Board for more than 20 years as an usher.

Louise enjoyed cooking as much as family and friends enjoyed eating her many delicious meals, especially her potato salad and crab cakes. She enjoyed browsing through the wares of antique stores. She could always be found working quietly on word search puzzles.

Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Brummell, and daughter Sandra Dee Brummell; parents; sisters De Rue Pinder Duke, Doris Pinder Sampson; and brothers Bernard Pinder and Donald Pinder.

Louise leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Renee Denise Brummell Franklin, her grandson Glen Kirk Franklin II, and stepson Paul Anthony Bailey. Louise is also survived by her siblings, Marvin Pinder (Helen), Edith Pinder, Dorine Pinder, Alfredia Major Pinder, Selestine Pinder, Tyrone Pinder (Vernetter), and Victoria Pinder Henry (Fleetwood); two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Brummell and John Brummell (Brenda) and one sister-in-law, Marjorie Brummell Woodard; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends. Louise’s heart was expansive, and her love of family expanded well beyond birth relations and Maryland friends to her adopted St. Louis family.
