Lephonso Albert Thomas Sturgis

June 28, 1960 ~ May 22, 2021 (age 60)


Lephonso Albert Thomas Sturgis affectionately known as “Fonzie” 60 of
Cambridge MD, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, May 22 nd , 2021. He
was born and raised in Wittman MD on June 28 th , 1960, the son of George E
Palmer of St. Michaels MD, and the late Helen Louise Satchel Sturgis Jackson of
Federalsburg MD. Fonize attended St. Michaels Middle High school where he ran
track and field and was on the wrestling team. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and
spending time with family and friends. He was employed for several years with
Hilton Garden Inn as a Banquet Chef in Columbia Maryland. Alphonso will
forever be remembered as the life of the party, the jokester, and loyal friend. He is
survived by his father George E Palmer of McDaniel MD, his longtime girlfriend
of 38 years Denise Tina Miller “Tina” of Cambridge MD, two daughters Dupree
Warren and, Domonique Sturgis both of Cambridge MD, 4 sisters Alexzine
Jackson or Cambridge MD, Tena Jackson of Houston, TX, Naomie Harrion of
Easton MD, Deloris Fosque of Baltimore MD, eight brothers Randy Sturgis
(Carolyn) of Bridgeville DE, Levi Sturgis (Cindy) of Hurlock, Oliver Jackson of
Valdosta Georgia, Martin Jackson of Miami Florida, Eric Jackson of Baltimore
MD, and Alfred Jackson of Delmar, DE, Jerome Burton, Michael Woodley both of
Greensboro MD, and a host of grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is
proceeded in death by, His mother Helen Louise Satchel Sturgis Jackson, Both
grandmothers Sarah Reed Sturgis, and Catherine Hannah Palmer.
