Geraldine Edith Cornish, 76 of Cambridge, Maryland entered eternal rest on Friday, March 5, 2021, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Glen Burnie, MD. She was the daughter of the late Jennie Ennels Chester and the late John Harold Seymore.
She graduated from Mace’s Lane High School, Class of 1962. In 1999 she became a member of the Cambridge Church of Christ, giving her soul to God. She worked at various jobs such as, Yale Sport Inc., Bumble Bee, Conagra Poultry, Short Stop and William Hill Manor until her health failed.
Geraldine’s hobbies included reading her bible, sewing, cooking, riding in cars, and playing cards. She was the backbone of the family and was quick to let everyone know. In 1966, she married Milton Cornish, Sr.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, James, John, Elenzor, Nathaniel and Alfred Ennels, 1 sister Ailene Dickerson, 1 special friend, Nellie Kane Stanley and Gale Seymore Benson, whom she loved as her own child.
She is survived by four children: Darrin Ennels, Sr, Renitia Cornish, Milton Cornish, Jr. (Vonetta), Glenda Cornish (Phillip) all of Cambridge, MD. A grandchild whom she raised Shanetia Cornish, Cambridge, MD, 12 grandkids, LaKerri Ennels, Portsmouth, VA, Gayron Ennels, Baltimore, MD, Laneeka Ennels, Darrin Jr., Shanetia Cornish, Eranda Scott, Brianna Cornish, Jayden Cornish, Bryan Cornish, Netherlands, Shakeria Fletcher, Mykeria Fletcher, Malika Fletcher, 18 great-grandkids, 1 sister Beverly Ennels of Cambridge, MD, 1 brother Thomas Ennels (Sylvia) of Seaford, Delaware, 2 sisters-in-law, Sylvia Ennels and Portia Johnson Ennels, many other neighborhood children she nurtured, twins Jeanie Wilson, Janie Keene, Richard Benson, Angie Benson Chester, Twanna Fisher and Orlando Dugars, many special friends, Jerry Burroughs, Barbara Cummings, Coleta Major Lee, Shirley Woolford, Eloise Wright, Eric Young, Lucille Askins, Davita Staff, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
