Donald Lurell Macer, Sr., also known by his friends and family as “Heavy”, “Heavy D”, “Big Don”, “Big D”, and “Pops”, 62, of Finchville, MD, took his departure on Sunday, September 13th , 2020 in Cambridge, MD.
Donald was born May 6 th , 1958, in Cambridge, MD to parents Joseph and Clara Gibson Macer. He grew up in Dorchester County and attended surrounding schools. Donald worked at Murphy’s Garage in Rhodesdale, MD many years. He always did mechanic work for family and friends, that was his passion. Donald was many things to many people. He was a father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was loveable and caring; a jokester; he kept a smile; he was genuine. He listened when anyone needed an ear and gave kind words of encouragement to friends. Donald was the type of man to give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Our loving Donald attended church at Wallace Temple AME Zion Church in Rhodesdale, MD & Church of God of Prochecy in Eldorado, MD. In his free time, he enjoyed working on cars, bingo at New Horizons Apartments, making model cars, attending the race track, creating inventions, he loved music, and he loved God.
Donald Lurell Macer, Sr. is preceded in death by his father Joseph Macer and mother Clara Gibson Macer.
Donald leaves his loving memories to be cherished by: four children: Donald Macer Jr (Nikki), Darnell Macer (Wendy), Markeshia Macer, Brittany Bowens, and a young lady that he loved like his own Keria Eliott; eleven grandchildren; two sisters: JoAnn Macer Cornish (Sherwood) of Orlando, Florida and Brenda Morgan of Seaford, DE; and many nieces, nephew, cousin, and friends.
