Stanley Stanley Sr. Obituary (1947 - 2018)

Maurice Sylvester Stanley of Cambridge, Maryland died, Friday, October 12, 2018 at Chesapeake Woods Nursing Home. Born February 17, 1950, he was the fifth son of the late Wilsie Stanley Travers and the late Dewey Stanley Sr. He was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County and worked for various companies in the Dorchester County area. There were so many special things Maurice loved to do and that was he enjoyed fishing and hunting rabbits and squirrels.He also loved riding his lawn mower as he cut grass no matter how hot it was outside. Maurice’s favorite food was a pot of beans and various kinds of soup. Spending time with family was also enjoyable for Maurice. Survivors include a special beloved lady in his life of 47 years, Peggy Travers; five sons, Andre (Ronnett) Stanley, Maurice Richard Stanley, Eugene (Leah) Travers, Marcus Travers and Alton Travers, whom he raised as his own; one daughter, Shirley Stanley Shepard; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Victoria (Joseph) Chester, Lucille (Carlton) Rowley and Pearl (Theodore) Ferguson; one brother, Frederick (Ruth) Stanley; one sister in-law, Deborah Stanley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Theodore Stanley, James “Buddy” Stanley, Dewey Stanley Jr. and Alonza Stanley and one granddaughter, Ronnissa “Bunny” Stanley.
