Labella Kane Obituary (1933

Labella Kane of Cambridge, MD was born on September 4, 1933. Labella lived a blessed and full life, as she was over 80 years "young" when she fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. She was reared and attended public schools in Cambridge, MD. Labella graduated from F.D. St. Clair High School, Class of 1951, which was the 1st class required to complete 12 years of education to graduate. Labella was employed at High Spot Restaurant, Rob Roy Sewing Factory, and Cold Water Seafood. She retired in 1996. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, spending time with family, and she enjoyed laughing at herself and with others. In addition to raising her two daughters, she took excellent care of her three grandsons. She was the photographer for every event she attended and known to send photos to the attendees. Labella was a lifetime member of Waugh United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed serving her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Labella served the United Methodist Women's Society, Food Pantry, Nursing Home Visitation, Prayer Warrior Ministry and other ministries. She was also an honorary member of Integrity Church International in Landover, MD, where she often attended with her daughter. She was the third of eight children born to the late Martin and Clara Etta Kane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Mildred Kennard & Alice Barringtine. Labella leaves to cherish her memory two devoted daughters: Darlene Johnson of Anaheim, CA and Bonnie Kane Sharp of Bowie, MD. Three grandsons: Damon Kane, Tyren Johnson, and Martin Sharp, Jr. One great-grandson, Naasir Jamaal Johnson. Two brothers: Martin Kane (Bernita) and Leroy Kane (Greta). Three sisters: Geraldine Owens, Dorethea Johnson, and Catherine Adams (Alvin); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Interment in Christ Rock Cemetery
