Hester Sudler

June 11, 1921 — November 25, 2017

Hester Sudler departed this life peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Chesapeake Woods Center.  She was the daughter of the late Mary Lee Boston-Pinder and Levin Pinder.  Hester was born June 11, 1921 in Mission.

Hester Married the love of her life Sherwood Sudler.  They spent many wonderful years together.  Together they raised a son, Derrick Sudler.

Her life long ministry can be summed up as the “Ministry of Love”.  At an early age Hester surrendered her life to Christ.  She later joined Bethel A.M.E. Church and remained a faithful member there until she became ill.  She served on the Usher Board, and Chancellor Choir.  She enjoyed praising God.

Hester enjoyed her time she spent at the Delmarva Senior Center.  It was her world; a place where she could be happy, laugh, and socialize.  She also enjoyed shopping and had quite a flair for fashion.

She was educated in the Dorchester County Public Schools.  Hester retired from Coldwater Seafood after over 20 years of service.

Hester enjoyed her family to no end. When she was present, laughter abound; her laughter was contagious and could be heard from every corner of the house!  She enjoyed having Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner with her special cousins every year, the Cornish Family.  She joined the Jones Family at their annual Father’s Day gathering and many other joyous occasions.

She leaves to cherish her many beautiful memories her loving and devoted goddaughters whom she loved like her own: Sharon Cornish-Scott, and Karen Cornish-Adebiyi; her special cousins: Asbury Jones Sr., Darlene Jones, Barbara Jones, Linda Jones, Carolyn Glee, Regina Jones, Asbury Jones Jr., and Rudell Jones; a nephew Rudolph Wongus; 2 nieces: Jackie Askins and Dorothea Pinder-Simpson; a goddaughter Vivian Keene, and host of cousins and friends.

In addition to her husband Sherwood Sudler Sr., and her son Derrick Sudler, she was preceded in death by her two brothers: Otis Pinder and Guy Randolph Pinder; a special cousin Celia Cornish.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21
