Elsie Stanley

Elsie Mae Stanley, 82 was called to Glory on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 peacefully in the comfort of her home with her family after a brief illness.

Born May 12, 1938 in Harrisville (Woolford, MD) daughter of the late Asbury and Bessie Chester. Elsie was educated in Dorchester County Public Schools.

In 1971 she married the sunshine of her life Harold Stanley and for nearly 50 years they stood strong together in love and faith. Elsie was employed at the Board of Education and retired after 20 years of  service.  She also worked at Bumble Bee Seafood 10 years and Trappe Frozen Foods.

Deaconess Stanley she was affectionately called accepted Christ at an early age and in her youth became a member of her family church St. Paul UM Church (Harrisville). Elsie was one of the original members of the Christianeers of Harrisville. As an adult Elsie joined the National Church of God for many many years under the leadership of the late Rev. Jeremiah Cox. Later she transferred her membership to Kingdom Church and Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Carlston D. Brisco. Deaconess Stanley was a devoted and faithful member for 19 years and served on the communion committee, missionary  department and the Gospel Choir.

Deaconess Stanley truly loved her family, and church family and friends. She enjoyed shopping and more shopping, cooking, singing and praising God.

She was preceded in death by  a daughter, Joyce Ann Robinson Pinder, Son, Benjamin Robinson, Sr.,  and four sisters: Delois Jefferson, Lovella Harris, Barbara Johnson and Clementine Dickerson.

Elsie leaves to celebrate her life her  loving and devoted husband Deacon Harold Stanley, three loving sons: Erskine Robinson(Mamie), Darnell Robinson(Theresa) and Kevin Robinson all of Cambridge, MD, stepdaughters Joan Batson(Malcom), Joyce Stanley Berry. One devoted and caring sister Berdina Ross(Hamon), Cambridge, one brother William  Asbury Chester(Woolford), one special uncle Joseph B Chester(Victoria) ,Cambridge, 5 grandchildren, Benjamin Robinson, Jr., whom she raised, Maya Pinder, Keyon Robinson(Liz), Christopher Graham, and Geraldine Collins, 8  great grandchildren, Christopher Graham, Jr., Dion(Khi), Malik, Tyrese, Tommy Robinson, Gave Robinson, Drevonz Stanley and Syria Stanley, special and caring nieces Renna` McKinney, Denise   Randolph, Bonnie Edwards, Tammy Washington  and Darlene Harris, a special and devoted nephew Leroy Todd  and a host of nephews, cousins and friends.
