Douglas Atlas DeShields (Atlas), born January 16, 1940 to Herbert DeShields Sr. and Marie. He peacefully departed this life Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Carline Nursing Home Denton, Md. After a long-term illness.
Born in Talbot County Douglas also received his education though Talbot County Public School System. During his early years, Douglas was employed at Jackson Service Station and Easton Bowling Alley for 30 years. He was a faithful member of St. Stephens A.M.E. Church. of Unionville.
Douglas was a people person touching lives of many. Despite his hearing impairment, He was able to communicate quite well with his family, friends and peers. His hobbies included bowling, fishing, keno, dancing, and being well groomed with the latest fashion.
Douglas leaves many fond memories for his family to cherish, Especially his sister and care-giver Theresa A. Deshields, two sister Robenia Johnson, Ceclia Nance; one brother Fredrick DeShields (Barbara) ; one sister-in- law Evelyn DeShields, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents Douglas is preceded in death by his siblings Herbert DeShields, Jr., Eve Roberts and Emma Dill.
