Tashena Renee Cephas

Tashena Renee Cephas, 34, departed this life on Wednesday September 26, 2018 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton in Easton. Also known as Ty, Tashena was born at Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford, DE on March 5, 1984 to Samuel Elias Cephas Sr and Patricia Ann (Lawson) Cephas.

Tashena graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School and attended Delmarva Beauty Academy and Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD. She became a Licensed Hair Stylist, Massage Therapist, CNA and was working on becoming an RN. She was employed at Delmarva Community Services while attending school. Tashena participated in many school plays and sang at many weddings, Home Goings, church programs and participated in several gospel plays . She was an outgoing memorable person who loved church. Tashena was always ready to sing anytime , anywhere and  would sing from sun up to sun down. Everyone loved her and was happy to see her. She was always willing to help others.

Tashena began her spiritual walk in Ellendale, DE where she was Baptized in Jesus name and later filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost at the Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church. As time progressed, she continued using her singing ministry at various churches across Maryland and Delaware. Even in here weakest moments she was still singing and praising her God saying always I am standing on the Word of God. Tashena had a big heart for people and loved to laugh, sing, do hair, travel and eat.

 Tashena was a loving mother to her first born Trinity F. Cephas and her second born Shekinah T. Cephas.  Her girls were most important in her life.  She loved them with all of her heart and made sure she did all she could to make them happy. 

She was an entrepreneur, owner of House of Queens and Kings and Queens Learning Center.

In addition to her parents, Tashena leaves to cherish her memories, 2 daughters: Trinity Cephas and Shekinah Cephas; 2 brothers: Samuel Cephas Jr. and Brian Cephas; one sister, Tyemesha Cephas; 3 nieces: Shamijah, Destiny, Nevaeh; 2 nephews: Amari and Adonijah; her aunts and uncles: Patricia and Juan Lawson of Ellendale, DE, Johnetta Green of Dover,  Darlene and Larry Haynes, Gloria and Donald Lawson, Charles Lawson all of Federalsburg, Mark Lawson and Diana Keene of Richmond, VA, Thomas Keene of Salisbury, Joanne Keene of Cambridge, McDonald Sr. and Mary of Cambridge, Edward Cephas of Cambridge, and Nazarene Cephas of Belair, her godfather, Wayne Foster and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives and friends. 

Tashena  was preceded in death by her grandparents, Othor and Estella Nichols, Corrine and Katherine Cephas, Edward R Cephas Sr., Franklin Travers and Bessie Taylor.
