On Sunday, June 16, 2019, Shirley Thomas Wilson quietly answered the call of our Heavenly Father from labor to rest at her home in Easton, Maryland. Born on April 24, 1956, she was the daughter of the late James W. Thomas Sr. and the late Catherine Brummel Thomas.
At an early age, Shirley became a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she learned spiritual and religious teachings under Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Woods. She also sang on the youth choir.
Shirley was a graduate of St. Michaels High School. She later entered the workforce working for several private families, Black & Decker, Talbot County Public Schools and Stepping Stones Children’s Center.
Shirley’s hobbies included playing cards, bowling, watching the Young & the Restless and listening to good music. She was a faithful member of the American Legion Blake-Blackston Post #77 Ladies Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Catherine Thomas, a nephew, James Thomas III and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memories her husband of almost 21 years, David Wilson of Easton, MD; one daughter, Kendra Thomas of Easton, MD; three grandchildren, Tyahna, Tymiere and Tarriyah Thomas of Easton, MD; three sisters, Jacquelyn Roberts (Dewey) of Easton, MD, Sharon Thomas (Frankie) of Queenstown, MD and Jennifer Thomas (Vincent) of Dover, DE; one brother, James Thomas Jr., (Joyce) of Easton, MD; two sisters in-law, Elaine Wilson and Yvonne Batson (Martin) of Carmichael, MD; five brothers in-law, Clark Wilson (Evelyn) of Preston, MD, Charles Wilson (Vercie) of Queen Annes, MD, Joseph Wilson (Mary) of Denton, MD, Preston Wilson (Peggy) of Easton, MD and Gregory Wilson of Denton, MD; three aunts, Gladys Smith and Geraldine Brummell of Royal Oak, MD and Jean Brummell of Wilmington, DE; one goddaughter, Tyneka Brummell; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and one very close friend, Olivia Moaney.
