Rodney Lamont Kane (Governor), 58 of Cambridge, Maryland was called to rest after a lengthy illness on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his home.
Rodney was born on March 12, 1961 in Cambridge to Sylvia Kane and George Tilghman. He attended Dorchester County Public Schools. He was employed with various jobs throughout the area.
He enjoyed his life to the fullest. There was never a dull moment when “Governor” was around. He loved to help people in any way he could. He was known as the candy man to his nieces and nephews.
Rodney loved to cook fried potatoes, wash cars and cut grass. His favorite saying was “heavy hitters, ain’t no quitter”.
In addition to his parents, he leaves to mourn three sisters: Nettie Kane, Allean Kane and Doretha Lake (Clarence); three brothers: Charles Kane, Quentario Kane (Audra) and James Kane; one aunt, Diane Kane; two uncles: Everette Kane (Tina) and Andrew Kane; a host of nieces, nephews , cousins and friends. He also had a close friend, Calvin Johnson and a caring friend who was there to help care for him, Shonta Copper.
