Mary Elizabeth Woolford of Cambridge, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester surrounded by family and friends.
Mary was born in Suffolk, Virginia on February 14, 1939 to Mary Freeman and Ernest Watford. She was a product of the Dorchester County Public School System and was a member of the Class of 1957 Mace’s Lane High School. There were a lot of school days memories shared over the years, but none were appropriate for this setting. Mary gave her life to Christ at an early age under the leadership then of Rev. Ernest Sutton. She attended Soul Outreach Christian Center under the pastorship of Rev. James Green, her brother and for many years, until her death, she was under the leadership and guidance of Pastor Mary Ennals at the True Gospel Tabernacle of Praise. A scripture she loved was 1 Corinthians 13; the love scripture. She was a faithful member of the Missionary Society.
Mary was a hard worker and demonstrated to her family important characteristics of a hard worker. Some places where she was employed were: Bumblebee Tuna, William Hill Manor, Food Lion and the Dorchester County Public School System from whence she retired. She held memberships in: Progressive of Dorchester Temple #224 IBPOE of W, Household of Ruth and Odd Fellows. She loved to cook and travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Freeman and Ernest Watford; children Linda, Michael and Leslie Murrill; brothers Ernest and Leroy Watford; sisters Helen Molock, Katie Green and Della Watford and close friends Bernice Woolford, Courtney Johnson, Elwood Molock and Gloristine Pinkett.
Mary is survived by her children: Gerald Murrill (Julie) of Houston, Texas, and Anthony Murrill of Cambridge and Tyron Murrill, a grandson she raised, Eugene Woolford (Margaret), Rodney Woolford (Tammy), Russell Woolford (Van) all of Cambridge and Connie Pattrick, of Salisbury; siblings: Robert Green (Joyce), James Green (Thelma); six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She also leaves to mourn a special niece, Pastor Mary Ennals of True Gospel Tabernacle of Praise; close friends: Cleo Bowe, Roberta Morgan, Childene Brooks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
