Mother Margie Martina Brisco Wilkerson, 96 of Cambridge, MD, departed this life on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Chesapeake Woods Nursing Center in Cambridge, MD.
Mother Margie was born October 9, 1923 daughter of the late James and Effie Brisco of Meekins Neck Hoopers Island, MD. Mother Margie was educated in the Dorchester County public school system. She was one of the best school bus drivers that Dorchester County public school system had. While driving school buses, Mother Margie met and married the late Ernest Haynes. From that union they were blessed with nine children. She was employed with several employers in the area but the most important job she loved dearly was bringing souls to Christ.
Her most awesome meals were Chicken & Dumplings, homemade rolls, cabbage and her sweet potatoe pies. While cooking, she loved to listen to her favorite gospel songs “Life is a ball game”, “Pass Me Not” and “A change is gonna come.” When the Holy Ghost came into that kitchen and got a hold of her, the pies would get a little burnt, but they were still awesome and tasty.
Mother Margie leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Ernest (Paulette) Haynes of Cambridge, MD, Stevie (Lorraine) Haynes of Cambridge, MD, Barry (Teresa) Haynes of Hurlock, MD, and Louis Haynes of Baltimore, MD; daughters, Geneva (Edward) Jackson Cooper of Baltimore, MD, Virginia Hall of Cambridge, MD and Elaine (Jeff) Rudaaille of Ellicott City, MD, Renee’ (Rodney) Dozier of Baltimore, MD and Grace Webb of Baltimore, MD and a host of grandchildren, an abundance of great grandchildren, a brother, Isaiah (Emma) Brisco) and a sister, Lillian Brisco, all of Cambridge, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends.
