John Garfield Turner, Sr. 73 of Hartford, Connecticut sadly departed this life on Wednesday January 2, 2019. Born April 17, 1945, son of the Late Estelle Turner & the late James Eason was educated in Talbot County Public School.
Started his career of working at Pratt & Whitney Air Craft, then changed careers to Travelers Insurance Company, then changed and retired from Cigna Insurance in Connecticut of 35 years, also did side jobs for family and friends, also was a DJ. Had his own Business called J.T. Recording Studio. Some of his other hobbies were playing the guitar, saxophone and piano. During his young years he was a member of the Glee Club. In his later years he was a member of the Wonderous Voices in church and a band. He also liked tinker with cars. Garfield gave a helping hand to many and many appreciated him for his act of kindness and will be missed by all.
Garfield was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, one son, Anthony Wayne Turner, Sister Sharon Allen, Nephew, Thomas Young, better known as Butchy.
Garfield leaves to cherish his memory his wife Diane Turner, four sons: Leslie Michael Turner (Jackie), John Garfield Turner Jr. (Lori), Stacy Lamont Turner, and Freddie Bishop, two daughters: Dr. Mary I. Joshua and Vashti Johnson; 9 grandchildren: Michael L. Turner, Raven Turner, Deja L. Turner, Tarig Turner, Darius Turner, Madison Turner, Tasha M. Davis, Darryl Love Jr., Ivey Johnson, 3 sisters: Delores Humphrey, Carolyn Campbell, Gloria Turner, and one Brother Stacy Turner, five sister in laws: Marcia Smith (Norman), Beverly Lewis, Portia Wyatt, and Kathy Lewis. A special friend of his brother, Gwendolyn Wright, three brothers in-law: Wilbert Campbell, Ronald Lewis, and Norman Smith.
A host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends. One very special Uncle in law, Walter I. Walley Sr. (Mouse), one very special cousin in law, Norman A. Scott (Butch).
