Jacquelyn Celeste Price

December 18, 1946 ~ July 29, 2019 (age 72)

Jacquelyn Celeste Price, the daughter of the late Ollie Mae Coleman-Price and George Alexander Price quietly transitioned from earth to heaven on July 29, 2019 at the Compass Regional Hospice Center in Centreville, MD. at the age of 72. Jacquelyn, known as “Jackie” to many was born December 18, 1946 in Wye Mills, MD.

She was educated in the public schools in Queen Anne’s County. She attended South County Elementary and graduated from the historic Kennard High.  She was also a diligent, faithful, and dedicated employee at Safeway for 30 some years until her illness. Jacquelyn was a very faithful, dependable worker and very much involved in her church. She joined John Wesley at a young age.  She was Secretary of the Church Council for well over 20 years.  Chairperson of the Charge Finance Committee, Chairperson of the Home Coming Committee, a member of the Stewardship Committee, helped organized and coordinated the John Wesley Annual Pre-Memorial Day Parade, responsible for preparing the Sunday Morning Bulletin before PC were invented and lastly responsible for the Hanging of the Greens during the Christmas season and instrumental with the Harvest Home Sale.  She was an active member of the Kennard Alumni Association especially with the planning of the Annual Alumni Picnic down through the years.

Jackie loved working with flowers.  You would often see her outside trying to beautify the home place with flowers. She was a people person always in conversation with whom ever she saw.  She loved to celebrate close relatives birthdays with a homemade cake and homemade ice cream.  She had a great love for her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents John and Clara Coleman and her parents George and Ollie Price.

Jackie leaves to cherish her memory 5 sisters: Doris Johnson, June Alston (Amos, Sr.) Barbara Banks, Margaret Davis, Charlotte Tongue (Stanley); 3 brothers: George Price (Grace), Gene Price and Thomas Wilson; 3 godchildren: Bonita, Jeffrey and Brian, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
