Clara Lucille Stanley Harris peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Chesapeake Woods Center, Cambridge, Maryland.
Clara was born on August 23, 1940 in Cambridge, Maryland to the late George Stanley and Anna Travers Stanley.
She received her education in the public schools in Dorchester County. Clara worked several jobs through her adult life at Old Fashion Foods, Leonard Tomato Factory, Glasgow Nursing Home and Kool-Ice Seafood.
Through Clara’s Christian walk in life she worshiped at Center Street Church of God, Cambridge, Maryland pastored by Rev. Hattie Stanley and Rev. Joseph Brown and The National Church of God, Hurlock, Maryland pastored by Rev. Roy Cephas. Clara had a strong faith in God and she thoroughly enjoyed reading her Bible.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to John M. Harris on October 14, 1958. From this union six children were born, John Harris (Charlotte), Kenny Harris, Sr., (Sharlene), Troy Harris, Sr., Jacqueline Harris Perry (Ted), Rodney Harris, Sr. (Shaneika) and Nechelle Harris; several grandchildren, Chareka, Stacey, Lacey, Kenny, Jr., Jemia, Troy Jr., Janay, Shanise, LaTaya, Tyiesha, Rodney, Jr., Ri’Neka, MyKira, DaMar, Da’Jon, Da’Neisha, Dontray, Adrian, Jr., Augustine, Jr.; 24 great-grandchildren; Sisters, Rosalee Banks and Esther Stanley; Sister-in-law, Gertrude Stanley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Harris; brothers Calvin, Edward, Wilmore and William Stanley; Sister Ruth Stanley Banks; Step-sisters Carolyn and Gloria Milbourn.
