Carl Lee Deaton Jr.

January 24, 1988 ~ February 18, 2019 (age 31)

Carl Lee Deaton Jr. son of Tina Wheeler-Scott and Carl Deaton Sr.  C.J. graced us with his Golden heart January 24, 1988.

Carl’s primary education began at Grasonville Elementary School, continuing at Centreville Middle School.  He received his High School Diploma from Kent Island High School. 2006.  His employment spanned from an early age working with his great-grandfather Arthur Jones Sr., cutting grass, United Shellfish, custodial services, tow truck driving to cooking.

Carl received his early Christian education at Robinson’s A.M.E. Church in which he joined in his adult years.

C. J. as he was affectionally known, some even loved him as Cee, Jay, Chub Roc, Mr. Curl .  He loved people as much as people loved him.  There was nothing he would not do nor give to his fellow man.  C. J. had a special way of making you mad but just as quick to make you laugh.  If there was an affair that involved cooking, you could find him somewhere in the kitchen or on the grill.  If your car was broke down he was under the hood trying to figure out what was wrong.  When there’s a family gathering, we could count on Jay to show up to be the jokester, cracking on somebody.  Chub Roc had a special pastime love for motorcycles, he joined The Home Boys Motorcycle Social Club, Centreville, Md. He served as the Sergeant at Arms.  Nevertheless, Cee left a mark on the heart of all he encountered with his warm heart, his affectionate smile and his infectious laugh.

He was preceded in death by His Grandmother Bessie Deaton; brother, Sean Deaton: Uncles, Clinton Deaton, Walter Deaton, Donald Butler, Avon Whyte; Aunt, Rose Butler, Cousins,  Deondra Jones (who was more like an Aunt),  and Robert Griffin Jr. (who was more like a brother) .
