October 22, 1992 ~ July 28, 2017 (age 24)

The Piano Brothers

Kirk Antywine Brown Jr. (“KJ”), 24, of Waldorf, Maryland, departed this life on Friday, July 28, 2017.  He was born at Easton Memorial Hospital in Easton, MD on October 22, 1992 at 7:11 P.M. to parents Chanté Holland and Kirk Brown Sr. In his early years, KJ attended Golden Shore Christian School and Choptank Elementary School in Cambridge, MD. During these years, he enjoyed attending vacation Bible School each summer, participated in recreational T-ball, karate, and attended Union Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Cordtown, MD.

After KJ’s mother was blessed with a new job opportunity in Washington, DC, the family moved to Waldorf, MD. He attended Mattawoman Middle School and North Point High School. While at North Point, KJ was selected to participate in the Cisco Networking Program. After completing high school, KJ decided to further his passion for technology and enrolled at the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) to receive his degree in Computer Information Systems.

From an early age, KJ showed interest in anything technology related. As a toddler, he would push the lock button on his grandmother’s car remote and say, “I want to push the buck-buck remote.” He was also intrigued with vacuum cleaners so his grandmother purchased one for him as a Christmas gift one year. Family members were fascinated with KJ’s ability to decode each number pressed on their cell phone. He would listen to the dial tone and knew exactly who you were calling. When he got a little older, his passion developed even farther… the computer was his playground. During his studies at CSM, the word spread that KJ was the “computer wiz” in the family. Whenever anyone needed computer assistance KJ was their guy. Often times you could find him coming downstairs with his laptop bag headed to the car. We would ask him where he was going and he would say, “I’m off to make a house call”. That’s exactly the type of person KJ was, if he could do anything to help you, he would be there.

KJ is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Ailene “Sister” Dickerson and paternal uncle David Brown Jr.

KJ leaves his loving memories to be cherished; by his loving parents Chanté (Eric) Holland and Kirk Brown Sr. (Sharon); his sister Vonnie Brown of Silver Spring, MD; his brothers Kobe Brown of Waldorf, MD and Gregory Foxwell of Cambridge, MD; and step-sisters Ashanti Moye and Tamara Holland of Alexandria, VA; Jacoba East of Tallahassee, FL and step-brothers Jacob East and Jonathan Meekins of Baltimore, MD. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Brenda (Mom-Mom) and George Cephas (Pop-Pop) of Cambridge, MD; Charles Robinson of Newark, DE; great grandmother, Jennie Travers of Church Creek, MD; and his paternal grandfather David (Judy) Brown, Sr. of Hurlock, MD. In addition to KJ’s parents and grandparents; he also leaves his maternal aunts Shirlene Travers of Cambridge, MD (who was like his second mother); Latoya Robinson of Newcastle, DE; uncles Troy Handy of Easton, MD (his favorite uncle); Deon Camper, Milford, DE; Antonio Murray, Lewis, DE; and paternal aunts April Kelmn, Yolinda Brown, Donna Brown all of Seaford, DE and uncle Ernest (Chevelle) Brown of Detroit, Michigan. He also leaves a special friend Parris Kirkum of Waldorf, MD and a host of aunts, great aunts, uncles, great uncles, cousins and friends.
