James Kennard Hall “Kenny”, 70, of Oxford, MD departed this life Sunday, November 19, 2017 at University of Maryland in Easton.

Born January 5, 1947 in Cambridge, Maryland, he was the son of James Thompson and the late Eleanor Hall. Kenny was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County, and later enlisted in the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam War. After being discharged from service, he relocated to Cambridge.

Kenny was first employed at Bumble Bee, followed by Darling Delaware (Rendering Plant) alongside his father for several years, and later worked at Airpax Corporation for 14 years. Following Airpax, he held various jobs as a security officer and retired from William Hill Manor in 2012.

Kenny endured many hobbies during his lifetime which included riding motorcycles, playing cards, drawing, barbecuing, picking crabs, puzzles, watching football, baking, and most importantly spending time with friends and family.  He also enjoyed playing music for many years and became known to many as “DJ Special K”. Kenny was an active member of the Slow Strokers Auto Club in Cambridge and the American Legion Post 70 in Easton. Through his music and clubs he impacted many within his community. His most passionate hobby out of them all was being  an active Firefighter and First Responder.  He joined the Oxford Fire Department in 1988. Kenny actively volunteered for over 20 years, and was recognized for his services before becoming a lifetime member of the company.

Kenny leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife of 38 years, Brenda Hall of Oxford; two daughters, Antionette Warrick (Ron) of East New Market, and Ashley Hall of Oxford; son, Tyrone Henry of Cambridge; father, James Thompson (Mattie) of Cordtown; sisters, Rita Cain (Shedric), Judy Brown (David) all of Cambridge;  Regina Wheatley (Carroll) of Glen Burnie, and Diana Thompson of District of Columbia; brothers, Kent Copper of Trappe, Wayne Thompson Sr. of Cordtown, and James Thompson Sr. (Wendy) of Hurlock; Four sisters-in-law, Michelle Mosley (Wayne) of Chesapeake, VA, Jeanette and Pamela Pinder both of Baltimore, and Evangeline Hollis of Oxford; five brothers-in-law, Parish Wilson of Middleburg, FL, Maurice Wilson (Lindsey) of Smithfield, VA, Hubert Greene of Easton, Kevin Pinder of Baltimore, and Glenn Pinder (Joann) of Covington, GA; six grandchildren, Josiah and Jayden of Oxford, Najee’ and Shyloh of Cambridge, Andre and Tysha both of Salisbury; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He also leaves behind three special cousins, Ferne Banks, Christian Harris, and Jerome Elliott; and two very close friends, June Conaway and Meaty Greene.

In addition to his mother, Eleanor Hall, he was preceded in death by a son, Ralston O’Keefe Henry; sister, Phyllis Travers; brother, Anthony Thompson.

Kenny will be forever missed and his life will be cherished forever.
